We have been a State-wide and City approved Paramedic service without interruption since the inception of the Company in 1984. In 1989 Midwest Ambulance Service began providing Paramedic level 911 services to Grinnell and Poweshiek County. Being a leader in providing the highest quality care to individuals from patient care to customer service is our priority. In May of 2010 Midwest Ambulance Service became the first EMS service in Des Moines to provide care, service, and safety to a growing need for Bariatric individuals. This included a specialty ambulance with the following state of the art equipment: bariatric ambulance cot, ramp/wench system and a hover mat with all allow for a safe and comfortable transfer of patients up to 1,200 lbs.

Midwest Ambulance Service believes in providing total patient care and this begins with your initial call to our state of the art communication center. Our controllers are highly trained and operate with computer-assisted dispatching equipment to provide the most timely service available to you.

We respond to a wide range of needs from routine to emergency to special event stand-by. We respond to private residents, nursing homes, physician offices, hospitals, and many others.
